Welcome to Boulevard Screenwriting. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Boulevard Screenwriting desktop software and website (collectively, the "Service") provided by Boulevard Screenwriting, LLC ("we", "us", or "our").
By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Boulevard Screenwriting is a creative writing software that enables users to write and manage screenplays. A free tier allows users to create up to two screenplays locally. A paid tier (one-time payment) unlocks unlimited screenplays and cloud syncing.
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
To use certain features, you must create an account and provide a name and email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Account sharing is not permitted.
You retain full ownership of all original scripts and content you create using the Service. We do not claim any rights to your creative work.
However, by using the cloud storage feature, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, back up, and serve your content to you solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the software;
- Attempt to bypass licensing restrictions or limitations;
- Automate interactions with the Service;
- Modify or tamper with the software's source files.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
The desktop application is conditionally usable offline. Cloud syncing and certain features require an internet connection and a paid account.
Paid licenses are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record, which handles all payment and sales tax processing.
Purchases are one-time and include lifetime access to the paid features of the current version. We reserve the right to update or discontinue features in future versions.
Refunds are issued at our sole discretion on a case-by-case basis.
We collect and store only the information necessary to operate and improve the Service. This may include account details, user-generated content, settings, and usage-related data. We do not sell your personal information.
For more information, see our Privacy Policy.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a harmful or illegal manner.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be error-free or uninterrupted.
We are not responsible for any data loss or damage resulting from your use of the Service. Please back up your work regularly.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Boulevard Screenwriting, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
Arbitration Clause: Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the app will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), conducted in the State of California. Both parties waive the right to participate in any class action or class-wide arbitration. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
We may update these Terms occasionally. When we do, we'll notify users by updating the effective date above or providing other reasonable notice.
